London Design Festival: Discussion - How to make it as a creative in London

Making a living from making is always tough, but with a pandemic and a cost-of-living crisis, its more difficult than ever for creatives to earn money doing what they love. Yet where there's a challenge, there's an opportunity. Hosted by Courier and Atelier100, this session is packed with lessons, advice and tips.

How does London inspire your creativity? In this session, we’ll hear from London brands and creatives on how the city informs their work. Expect to meet Brick London, the London-based studio designing and creating products in the form of the eponymous London brick. Founder of Been London Genia Mineeva pivoted into the world of up-cycling materials—in this instance, leather goods with purpose—after a stint as a celebrated campaigner for the UN and Change.org. These makers will be joined by Rebecca Morter, founder and CEO of Lone Design Club, a group of experiential concept stores that foster community and challenge the status quo—Atelier100 being one example.
Get there early for a chance to meet and make with 4160Tuesdays a thoroughly indie, artisan perfumery based in West London, who have been hand-making interesting scents since 2011
