Product story

Mitre & Mondays floor light plays with controlled design elements which top and tail the more rough and raw materials, serving similar purposes as they would in the natural world. There’s no denying that the London cobblestone is an eye-catching feature. The rock plays the physical role of weighing down the base (powder-coated in an arresting orange hue), visually reflective of where you’d ordinarily find a stone. Meanwhile, the rough sawn London Plane timber central structure acts instinctively as the trunk.

Manufacturing story

This is the totemic of Mitre & Mondays design approach: taking things you see out in the world and building them into an object. Nothing is hidden; the beauty of the London Cobblestone Floor Light is that the design is meant to expose the connection between material and function, not conceal it.
