Product story

At the heart of Gum is nostalgia, an appreciation for novelty, and the playful imagination of its co-founders, Ella Rush and Kiah Bibby. During lockdown, the two Central Saint Martins students began to co-create, combining Rush’s explorations of thermochromatic materials and Bibby’s skill in jewellery design.

Manufacturing story

Gum rings mix non-toxic resin with a top secret colour changing element, and are cast in custom moulds. That secret ingredient means that, exposed to body or environmental heat, rings either change from dark to light or to a new colour entirely. Each is handmade, in a process that limits waste.
