Product story

In a marbled, monochromatic jesmonite – a material first created in the UK in 1984 – By Shax panda trays are each unique. Small and useful for jewellery, trinkets, or as coasters, they are backed with cork to protect surfaces.

Manufacturing story

The story of these trays centres on their primary material: jesmonite. Durable enough to be used as an alternative to concrete, jesmonite is ecologically friendly, made of a gypsum-based material and acrylic resin. It is also exceptionally versatile, used in everything from construction – often as a surface material – to fine art sculpture, steadily gaining popularity in its near 40-year history.
